The Miss Armoy 2018 Crown is waiting for you!

AS the 10th anniversary celebrations continue, organisers of the Armoy Road Races are calling on young women to enter this year’s Harrigan Fuels Miss Armoy competition, which will take place on Thursday 26th July in the corporate hospitality marquee on the Hillside Road in Armoy.

The competition is one of the major highlights of Bike Week, with young women participating from across the province and beyond. The lucky lady to be crowned Miss Armoy 2018 will serve as an ambassador for the club, where she will attend a host of events throughout the year.

This year, Bike Week runs from Saturday 21st July until Saturday 28th July with the races, supported by the Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council, taking place on Friday 27th July and Saturday 28th July 2018 culminating in the Bayview Hotel ‘Race of Legends’.

Vice Chairman and organiser of Miss Armoy 2018, Trison McMullan said, “Miss Armoy has always been a very important part of race week, as it showcases the passionate young women we have in our local community.

“As we celebrate the tenth anniversary, the future Miss Armoy 2018 will have a very special role in helping us celebrate this milestone, both on race day and as a brand ambassador throughout the year.

“Upon entering, there are a number of guidelines which must be met, entrants need to be over 18 by Thursday 26th July and they require two sets of clothes, neither of which will be swimwear!

“Kickstarting at 9pm on Thursday 26th July, the Miss Armoy competition will be hosted by Downtown Radio’s Gary Myles with live music from Roll the Dice followed by the crowning of Miss Armoy 2018. We are on the look-out for enthusiastic and passionate young women, who are up for a challenge and willing to take part in Race Day on Saturday 28th July.”

All finalists will also be expected to appear at the Race Event on Saturday 28th July 2018, from 9.30am, until the end of day to assist at the start grid of each race. With previous Miss Armoy winners pursuing modelling careers including Miss Northern Ireland, this demonstrates the limitless opportunities available to the young women who apply.

Trison continues, “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Harrigan Fuels, our main sponsor. Without their continued support each and every year, the Miss Armoy competition would not be possible.

“I’d also like to thank all those who have donated prizes for the competition, which include; Pacemaker Press, Nutt Travel, Armada Bar, Katrina Hair and Tanning Salon, Beauty at Logan’s and Coleraine Florists. Their support and generosity is invaluable and greatly appreciated by the Club.”

All entries should be submitted as soon as possible, however applications are open until 13 July 2018. Entry forms with full instructions can be downloaded from www.amrrc.com or visit the Miss Armoy 2018 Facebook page.
